Why I laugh every time I hear about women's "oppression"

Man says to woman: "I just lost everything. My family, my house, my job, and now I'm headed overseas to die in war."

Woman responds: "Quit whining you little bitch. I dressed like a hooker and got wasted last night on men's dime. And as I left the bar without so much as a thank you, one of them had the nerve to call me a slut!"

Man responds: "Yeah, that's terrible. Go women's rights."

Just remember, it's not a zero-sum game guys! Even though men and boys are discriminated against in countless social and legal ways, and the only thing women have to complain about is being called a slut when they sleep around, because they face little to no real discrimination and have plenty of legal and social privileges without the same responsibilities as men, the appropriate response to a comment about men's rights is:

"What about the women? This is not a zero-sum game!"

I'm kidding, of course. Women really have just about no unique sexism to complain about. And so when I see someone respond to a men's issue with some form of "but what about the wimminz", such as "oh, but that happens to women too (I won't mention that it's extremely rare in women's case)", or "but what about this other miniscule issue women face", or even "but what about women in other countries", I can't help but laugh at the stupidity of it.

My real point is shut up about women's issues when I'm talking about men's. I won't waste time on women's issues when men have so many more serious issues that must be dealt with, anymore than I would waste time consoling the woman in the above story about being called a slut, when the man is the one who is really in need of help. Misandry is rampant in the western world, while true misogyny, true discrimination against or hatred of women, pales in comparison.

See also the following quotation at Reddit:

"Yeah, or as I mentioned in the AskFeminists circumcision thread, the response seems to be, 'Well, of course it's wrong that babies are being mutilated, but what do you expect us to do about it? We're too busy debating whether Summer's Eve's new ad campaign objectifies women.'"

If you have any doubt that our society is in the shitter...

Just watch a women's talk show sometime. Watch The Tyra Show. It's pathetic, yet comical in a way.

Most human beings ARE children

Just heard something from A Voice for Men Radio regarding how his ex-wife used emotional appeal to influence his children against him. In fact, lies wrapped in emotion are well-received by children and those with a child's mentality - about 99% of human beings.

The reason we are in such a shithole today is that most human beings act like children today. Most are not adults. Most value emotion over reason. Most don't care about justice but about whatever feels good, even if that's blissful ignorance.

Why are things so bad? We are a race of toddlers.

Goo goo.

People are stupid - and that's why things are so bad

If human beings weren't, for the most part, so extremely stupid, we wouldn't be in the situation we are today.

As evidence, see the replies from the vast majority of people here who label Thomas Ball a crazy person (even though his farewell note was very sane) and a terrible child abuser who should never see his kids (even though he slapped his daughter once in order to scold her): http://www.reddit.com/r/news/comments/i1q0f/man_burns_himself_to_death_at_a_new_hamshire/ or http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3419506

Not to mention the inane notions spread throughout that corporal punishment doesn't work or that violence never solves anything.

I've always wondered why I've never gotten along with very many people. In fact, it's because I am not a fucking idiot.

I used to frequent the Something Awful forums, though I don't anymore. I stopped because I never got along with most of the people there, self-righteous white knight pussy-worshipping emasculated fools. There were so many of them and so few like me that I wasn't sure if I was just too damn smart or just crazy.

Turns out I'm one of the few sane people in an insane world. Reddit is full of fools similar to those at Something Awful, although particular reddits such as R/MensRights are slightly better, and the manosphere is much better.

But really, when 99% of people are willing to shit on a guy by falsely calling him crazy and a child abuser, a guy who made a very cogent argument and put himself out there by lighting himself on fire because there was seemingly little else left for him to do to try to open our eyes other than killing someone, as he had tried the political route extensively, my outlook is grim for this species. When 99% of people are idiots, they're going to be hard to save, and I'm not sure they deserve salvation.

edit: A Voice for Men Radio host Paul Elam and guest Dr. Tara Palmatier commented further on how screwed up this culture and the media are. I urge you to listen to the broadcast here: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/avoiceformen/2011/06/22/dr-t-accidental-pregnancies-and-entrapment

Incompetence and unscrupulousness waste time in the "land of the free"

Over the last week my time has been wasted in the following ways due either to incompetence or unscrupulous practices:

- Time Warner Cable didn't show up at the scheduled time for our installation appointment. The fiancee wastes an hour to get a mere $20 credit for our wasted time waiting at home for them.

- Ikea delivery folks call me to let me know they're delivering to our apartment in half an hour, and since I'm half way across town running errands and a bit distracted I simply say "okay" even though they weren't supposed to show up until three hours later - that's why I was running errands and not already at home. So I drive back across town to my apartment and make it there in 25 minutes only to find that they already showed up at my apartment and then left after calling my fiancee and having her tell them to wait. Meanwhile my fiancee has been waiting for 20 minutes for me to pick her up while I'm on the phone with Ikea trying to figure out where the delivery guys are - who Ikea can't get a hold of. Ikea tells me if I have a complaint they can give me a fucking e-mail address to contact, so I let them know I'll be sure to let everyone know about their crappy delivery service and I need to go pick up my fiancee, thank you, goodbye. Later my fiancee called back and got the delivery fee refunded, or so they claim - I don't see the refund in my account yet. Maybe we'll have the pleasure of spending another hour to actually get our refund.

- Now my fiancee is in the process of trying to get our Time Warner Cable fixed because they decided to charge us $50 a month for high speed internet when we had requested the $25 a month regular speed internet (which they are now claiming is $30 a month alone). Not only that, but they somehow managed to cash only $72 on a check I wrote for $73. She's been on the phone for 40 minutes already and she hasn't even gotten to the check issue yet. Jesus.

Drives me to drinkin'! Well not really, but I just now received a flask in the mail that's a cheap knockoff of the brand I ordered from a seller on Amazon. I've put through a complaint to the seller through Amazon so we'll see how that goes. I can't wait!

I'm not a nitpicky person, but I'm tired of people wasting our time either through sheer stupidity or through calculated scams. And after they waste our time once we then have to spend even more time convincing them to correct their mistakes and compensate us for the hassle and wasted time. God damn.

Some of it's due to corporate or individual greed and the rest due to non-value-adding bureaucracy. Or maybe it's just human stupidity.

Road Exasperation

I won't call it road rage, but I will call it exasperation. Mormon Man at In Mala Fide explained my thoughts pretty well in his article, Stop Whining.

I have an idea of how the world should be. It seems fair and objective. When people don’t live up to it – whether at work or my personal life – I vent about it and get frustrated.

A perfect example for me and most of the men in my life is road rage. I hate driving home from work and want it to take as little time as possible. So if I’m delayed because someone is too slow in one lane or isn’t paying attention when the light turns green, it really sets me off. Logically, I know that it really only adds three minutes to my commute at the most. But the fact that someone isn’t driving the way I expect them to instantly triggers frustration. It’s annoying.

Why are things so bad? One reason is that most people just don't think - they're either stupid or ignorant or both. And so when an asshat holds up a line of cars going 20 in a 25, then speeds up to 35 mph just as the light turns yellow to blow through it while leaving everyone else stuck at a red light, I can't help but vocalize a "fuck you" and hope he or she sees my middle finger in the rearview mirror.

When I am on the road, my goal is to get to my destination as safely as possible at a decent clip, while ensuring that I'm not holding up other drivers by doing stupid things. To me, driving is cooperative, and because I don't want other drivers to hold me up, I make damn sure I don't hold up other drivers. If everyone were to do the same, the roads would be less stressful and safer, though I suppose inept drivers who shouldn't be on the road in the first place would still be fucking things up for the rest of us.

If I had held up a line of cars and sped through a light at the last second like that, I would be embarrassed and mouth a silent "sorry guys". Somehow I don't think most people would, and it's not just ignorance - it's selfishness.

The ignorance, foolishness, and selfishness of the masses are leading contributors to why society is so messed up these days. While these traits of the human species are likely innate, they are probably amplified greatly by the fact that people today have no need to learn, to think, or to care for other people.

Technology makes it so easy to be a dumb unthinking drone, and our educational and legal systems do nothing to make people use their noggins once in a while to focus on what they're doing. Maybe if we taught children to fend for themselves and solve problems hands-on, maybe if we actually required drivers to be competent before putting them on the roads, maybe if we didn't make it illegal to drive 1 mph over a speed limit that doesn't always make sense, maybe if police officers spent more time educating poor drivers on the rules of the road and common decency rather than sending boys to prison for smoking a joint or having sex with a girl their own age or older... well who am I kidding?
